Hiplife duo, Keche says their single “No Dulling” was a greater hit than all the song’s released by reigning VGMA artist of the year, Kuami Eugene last year.
This is in reaction to critics who claim that the group’s 2020 claim to fame and career revival was due the featuring of the “Rock Star” on their single.
Speaking on the entertainment segment of Tv3’s “New Day” with MzGee, a member of the award-winning group, Keche Joshua cited joint projects such as Sarkodie’s “Happy Day”, Wendy Shay’s “Wedding Song” among other songs which feature Kuami Eugene as nowhere near “No Dulling” and warned their detractors to desist from such comparisons.
“…Kuami Eugene has done a lot of collaborations with a lot of people but why isn’t it as big as “No Dulling”? he was featured on Wendy Shay’s song as well as Sarkodie’s but none of them is bigger than “No Dulling”. I don’t get the rational behind people’s notion Kuami Eugene revived our group. We featured him [Kuami Eugene] and we have the biggest song ever than he released in 2020 despite the fact that he is a good musician.”
For him, Andrew feels collaborations are purely business ventures and the success of the song alone is good enough for them.
“…I don’t dispute the fact that people are entitled to their opinions. Kuami Eugene is a brilliant artist and that’s why we went for him – personally, I like him. The bottom-line is, Keche has the biggest song which is doing well. We move on to the next project as this is business.”
On the heels of a successful year in 2020 with their single “No Dulling” featuring Kuami Eugene dominating the airwaves and topping charts, the award-winning group were in the studios of Tv3 to premier the video of their latest single entitled “Good Mood” featuring VGMA Best New Artist of the Year, Fameye which was released in late 2020.
