2016 just started and we’re already excited about the new movies we’re looking forward to watching this year. Last year, I was impressed by most of the movies that were released and I hope this year also goes well — new series and movies to look out for this year compiled by geminichime.com.
JURNEE SMOLLETT-BELL will be starring in WGN America’s TV series Underground. The series is based around the Underground Railroad which played a major role in freeing enslaved people of African decent in the 1800s. Jussie Smollett also scheduled to appear in a guest role. DON CHEADLE will be featured in the biopic for the late great Miles Davis in the Movie Miles Ahead. Don Cheadle will play Mr. Davis and direct the film. The Kansas City native (Cheadle) is know for movies su`ch as Rosewood 97′, Traffic 00′, Ocean’s Eleven-Twelve & Thirteen and the unforgetable lead role in Hotel Rwanda 04′. Movie to be released April 2016.
CUBA GOODING JR to play OJ Simpson in FX’s America TV series The People VS OJ Simpson. The series will be based on the legendary trial of the 90s against Simpson and the legal team’s. Series to be release this month on FX America check your local listing.
TRISTAN “MACK” WILDS stars in VH1 The Breaks. Based on the 90s Hip Hop Era in New York and the rise of Hip Hop. Premiers Janurary 4th @ 9/8c on VH1.
TONI BRAXTON executive-producing her memoir TV Lifetime movie Unbreak My Heart. The Multi-Grammy award winner will also have a guest appearance in the Lifetime Movie. Premiers January 23rd @ 8/7c.
ICE CUBE bringing back Calvin in his role for Barbershop 3. With 2 successful hits under his belt with Barbershop 1 & 2 I’m sure Barbeshop 3 will be another box office hit with the star studded cast lined up.
