Former General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho has called on the party to accept the results of the presidential polls, although he believes their nonacceptance has no effect on the outcome.

He explained that the NDC’s claims of a flawed election seems implausible especially when the processes was quite transparent.

Mr. Anyidoho who was part of the many independent observers of the elections asserted that the NDC with its posture of defiance after the EC declared President Akufo-Addo as the winner of the polls seems to insult the intelligence of Ghanaians.

According to him, their assertion that the election was rigged seems implausible since the elections was keenly observed by both local and international observers, alongside the media and all these parties couldn’t have been bought to favor the incumbent government.

“Ghanaians, want, and love their peace oooo: There were 22 Local Observer Teams & 6 International Observer Teams: so were ALL the Teams and the media bought? At what price were we bought? Please, some people should stop INSULTING the intelligence of Ghanaians,” he wrote on twitter.

He added that their nonacceptance will not negate the validity of the results declared

“Non-acceptance of Elections Results by a political party, does not negate the validity of the Declared Results by the Electoral Commission.” He wrote
