The MTV Africa Music Awards (also known as the MAMAs) was established in 2008 by MTV Networks Africa (now Viacom International Media Networks Africa ) to celebrate the most popular contemporary music in Africa.
This year’s ceremony which would be taking place on the 22nd of October, 2016 promises to be exceptional as Wizkid, DJ Maphorisa, C4 Pedro and Kenya music group Sauti Sol join the rich line-up of music stars to perform at the MAMA 2016.
They join the likes of Yemi Alade, Ycee, Cassper Nyovest and Alikiba to light up the Ticket Pro Dome stage in, Johannesburg, South Africa.
American rapper and Hip hop act Future has been announced as the international act to perform at the event.
Trevor Noah will be hosting the sixth edition of the awards.
