In a rather sad event, the former world 400m hurdles champion, Nicholas Bett has lost his life in a car accident at the age of 28.
Bett was involved in an accident in Nandi, north-west Kenya, just a day after returning from the Continental Championships in Nigeria.
Citizen TV Kenya announced his untimely death via a tweet.
Bett became the first Kenyan to win a gold medal in a distance shorter than 800m when he emerged victorious in the 400m hurdles at the World Championships in Beijing in 2015.
