Trolls on social media are not giving the BET award winner, Sarkodie a breathing space.
Ghanaians woke up to the shocking news of a take over of UT Bank Ltd and Capital Bank Ltd by the GCB Bank. According to a statement, The Bank of Ghana has revoked the Licences of UT Bank Ltd and Capital Bank Ltd. This action has become necessary due to severe impairment of their capital.
In 2015, Sarkodie released a single titled Hand To Mouth in which he lauded GT Bank for being one of the banks in Ghana that people could trust with their investments.
His endorsement of the bank in his song went a long way to boost people’s confidence and trust in the bank.
However in 2017, the struggling bank has collapsed eventually which is raising eyebrows — making people question Sarkodie’s intent for the endorsement.
The situation however has caused an uproar on social media with trolls mocking the rapper and UT Bank with funny memes and statements.
