Last year was a great year for Gospel musician, Gifty Osei, who found love again in politician, Hopeson Adorye, after her first marriage crashed and she capped it all off with a very private marriage ceremony which from some few videos on social media, seemed to have been quite grand.
However, the absence of Gifty Osei’s colleagues in the Gospel fraternity at the event has become a talking point among some people who have wondered why they didn’t show up.
Well, a source close to the Aseda singer explained it all to Showbiz saying, it was a deliberate decision on her part.
According to the source, who did not want to be named, Gifty’s first marriage ended because of her colleagues.
She explained that “Gifty’s first marriage, which collapsed more than a year ago was due to her Gospel musician friends who kept telling her husband false stories about her.
“She told me several times that she suspected her colleagues were telling her husband things that were not true. Although she did everything to save her marriage, it didn’t work.”
The source said Gifty Osei was now afraid of her colleagues and wanted to do things differently this time round hence the private ceremony and snubbing of the musicians.
“My friend has been through a lot after the collapse of her marriage and she wants to lay low for a while that is why she decided to have a ‘secret wedding’,” she said.
She said Gifty is madly in love with her new husband and all she needed now were prayers to keep her marriage going.
“I will suggest that we pray for the couple as they embark on this new journey. Marriage is not easy at all but I believe the two will make it work. Gifty has learnt great lessons from her previous marriage and she is bent on making this new one work,” she said.
When Showbiz contacted Gifty Osei, she would not deny or confirm the source’s claims but said she would speak about everything when the time was right.
