Hearts’ Alhaji Akambi Defiant- Insists Hearts Of Oak Won Game Captured In Anas’ Number 12 Video On Merit

Alhaji Akambi, Board and Strategic Member for Hearts of Oak

Board and strategic member for Accra Hearts of Oak, Alhaji Braimah Akambi has publicly heaped praises on his side for meritoriously winning the game against Kumasi Asante Kotoko despite referee Sukah being bribed. Referee Samuel Sukah was captured in the Anas’ explosive piece, Number 12 taking bribe in order to officiate the match in favor of The Phobians.

The fixture which took place on the 19th of March 2017 was poised for a draw when in the 84th minute, referee Samuel Sukah awarded a controversial penalty to Hearts of Oak after he adjuged Kotoko’s Awudu Nafiu to have handled the ball. The decision was very strange as the ball was even nowhere near the hands of Nafiu who threw himself at the ball.

In an interview on Happy Sports [on the 14th of June, 2018], Alhaji Akambi insisted that his side won the game on merit as they dominated possession and were in control of the game for greater portions of the game. He further insisted that the penalty for which Sukah has been very much maligned was a very clear one.

Well, for the current state of Ghana’s fooball, we expect people in positions like Alhaji Akambi to be guarded by truth and integrity. It is very appaling to hear a man of such caliber throw the evident truth away to the dogs just because the said decision favored his club.

With people such as Alhaji Akambi occupying very important positions in clubs, the quest to clean Ghana’s messed up football will prove to be more intriguing and involving than it already appears.
