itel Drops Ahuofe Patri As Brand Ambassador — Did She Fail To Deliver?

On February 16 2017, itel Ghana signed on actress Priscilla Opoku Agyeman popularly known as Ahuofe Patri as their brand ambassador.

This was a move made by the mobile phone brand in their bid to take over the Ghanaian market.

In the signing ceremony, Micheal Tuekpe, digital branding and communications manager of itel revealed that they opted for Priscilla because they believe she identifies well with the youth and therefore very capable of promoting their brand.

However, the actress has since October 17, 2017 failed to promote any of itel products on her social media pages. She was also missing when itel launched their new brand of phones, itel P32, A32F and A15, into the Ghanaian market.

Again, the company has since the beginning of the year stopped using Ahuofe Patri as a brand icon to promote their products through posters and other official activities.

We therefore ask, did Ahuofe Patri fail to use her influence to cause sales of itel mobile phones and products? Was her contract terminated for some reason?

We however do not know the details of the contract so it could also be possible that it ended last year, barely 10 months after she was signed.
