Actor cum politician, John Dumelo might have hinted that he has plans to improve upon Ghana’s lot in the “lesser” known sports.
19 year old Bianca Andreeescu’s victory over Serena Williams in the US Open final has sent shock waves round the world. Her victory comes a year after Naomi Osaka, aged 20 also defeated Serena Williams to win the US Open.
These unprecedented victories have put a lot of people on the alert that with efficient training and irrespective of one’s seeming inexperience, a champion can be raised.
In the wake of that, John Dumelo may have hinted of plans to improve upon Ghana’s lot in sports.
Via a tweet, he opined that should we get a bunch of young and vibrant teenagers to be trained in athletics, tennis, swimming, etc, Ghana will dominate the world in a few years.
