German forward, Mario Gomez has retired from International football.
He made the announcement yesterday by posting a lengthy message on his facebook page.
An excerpt of the post reads “I’ve met a lot of people with whom I will be very connected. Now it’s time to make room and give the many young boys the opportunity to fulfill their dream, prove themselves, collect experiences and reach the best for Germany”.
He played 78 games and scored 31 goals for Germany.
