Mike McDaniel is an American football coach and former player who is currently the offensive coordinator for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He has been in the NFL since 2002, when he was hired as an offensive assistant with the San Francisco 49ers. He has since held various coaching positions with the Denver Broncos, Washington Redskins, and Atlanta Falcons.
McDaniel was born in San Diego, California, and attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he played college football. After college, he was signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 1994. He played for the 49ers for two seasons before retiring in 1996.
