The sad news is that Mr. Oko Nelson, father of celebrated Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson is dead.
Though it’s such a sad news, the question I ask myself is, will Yvonne Nelson cry over Mr. Oko’s death? All the same my condolences to Miss Yvonne.

You must be wondering why the question – okay in case you are empty as far as Yvonne and father’s issue are concerned, I, Ghana’s ‘Konkonsahene’ (King of Gossip) will help you with few information I’ve gathered on both persons.
Yvonne Nelson showed her total disregard for her father on several occasions with her yearly father’s day tweets which mostly got some of us wondering where the actress’ father could be—and why she was always wishing her mother ‘happy father’s day’ when the dad was alive, especially with her 2014 father’s day tweet to her mum on father’s day.
From what I gathered, Yvonne Nelson’s real father Mr. Oko Nelson lived at Dansoman, just near Mr. Biggs restaurant. He was the owner of Nellies Guest House in Dansoman. He was a very respectable man.
Yvonne Nelson occasionally drove her VW down there to see her father, which confirms there was some off the limelight relationship between the two – so her refusal to recognize the father but mother on Father’s Day keeps me wondering.
But Yvonne some time ago established a sour relationship between herself and Father. According to her, “My dad is not such an amazing person in my life. I don’t have any good memories of him.”
In the new edition of Genevieve Magazine, the award winning revealed that even though she had an amazing step-father, “I always wished I could have had him (biological father) in my life.”
The ‘Single and Married’ producer, who has been extremely vocal about being raised solely by her mother, said, “When I was born, I guess, my father was not happy about my birth, so he wasn’t there for me. He chose not to be a part of my life; a single mother raised me.
“She trained me from kindergarten to University. My father was never there. That created a vacuum in my childhood. But I’m grateful that I had my mum and she did all she could to make sure that I lacked nothing.”
Speaking about failed promises made by her father, Yvonne said, “When I was younger, I met him and I told him I wanted a pair of shoes for Christmas and he told me he was going to buy me three or four pairs. My excitement knew no bounds when he said that.”
“Guess what?” – – Yvonne asked rhetorically and continued, “He never fulfilled that promise; I waited for those shoes for a very long time, but they never came. At a point I asked my mum, and she said, ‘listen, if he wanted to do as he said, your shoes would have gotten here a long time ago, so better move on.”
She continued, “At another time, while he was in London I asked him to take me with him and he told me not to worry, that he would come for me. I waited and waited, and he never did. The two times he ever promised me something when I was growing up, he failed to fulfill them. That has never left my mind.”
Yvonne also revealed that her father had kids with other women saying, “While I was in school, I had a brother. For the first time, she shares a picture she took with her father – plus attached affectionate words:
My question is, did Mr. Nelson make peace or reconciled with Yvonne Nelson before his demise? R.I.P Daddy – – I say.
