Controversial musician Mzbel has congratulated President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the free Senior High School initiative despite doubting his Presidential ambitions prior to the 2016 general elections.
Mzbel who spearheaded the campaign for now opposition party, National Democratic Congress, took to her Facebook page on Monday morning saying
“Free Education here we come!!! It’s actually true oo! Hahaaa Nana well done oo!! Onto the next deal… One Corner One Dancer! Inshallah “.
Mzbel son according to the musician had 8 1’s in the 2017 Basic Education Certificate Examination.
He however gained admission to Achimota Senior High School where he will be enjoying the free SHS as an eligible beneficiary of the programme.
The first batch of Junior High School graduates to benefit from the government’s Free SHS program reported to their various schools today [Monday] to begin the processes for their enrollment.
The Free SHS program is a long-held campaign promise by the New Patriotic Party that seeks to increase enrollment in schools by removing the burden of all major mandatory fees from parents and making it a responsibility of the government.
Although the program will be formally launched on Tuesday, September 12, by President Akufo-Addo, Senior High Schools will officially reopen to commence the 2017/2018 academic year today.
