The man with a golden heart who doubles up as the CEO of MenzGold and owner of the media conglomerate, Zylofon media has set his sights on building a theatre in Kumasi. This is with respect to his quest to revamp and support the creative arts industry in Ghana.
The people of Kumasi have always felt that a theatre is due them and with respect to that, their woes have landed on the fertile and productive ears of Nana Appiah Mensah. Nana Appiah Mensah in the company of Catherine Afeku [Minister of Tourism, Creative Arts and Culture] and Socrates Safo [Officer for Creative Arts, National Commission on Culture] embarked on a fact-finding tour of the Kumasi Central Market, the location which has been ear marked for the project.
The Ashanti region is lacking woefully in terms of infrastructure for the Creative Arts Industry which has led to a rapid and drastic decline of the region’s Creative Arts Industry. This has led to a wide emigration of Ashanti region’s talents into the nation’s capital, Accra in search of greener pastures.
This project by the NAM mission will definitely meet the applause of the people in the Ashanti Region and help in stabilizing the Region’s Creative Arts sector upon completion.
The date of commencement of the said project has not been stated yet but we are sure that it will be made public in no time.
We will bring you details of the project when it begins to unfold.
