Time and time again, nature has its own way of presenting the world with ideal game changers. Some the world resists and others, the world accepts. Just as it has always been with every game changer, there are always doubts about the originality and specificity of their purpose. That notwithstanding, such rare breed of societal game changers are regularly justified by their actions.
It is an open secret that Ghana’s entertainment industry had been on an amazingly shocking downward spiral……..so fast was the downward slope so much so that the conclusion was that our entertainment was heading into the ditch. Then from nowhere came Nana Appiah Mensah, then came Zylofon Media [Zylofon Radio and Zylofon TV]. Listening and watching Zylofon radio and television respectively, it is obvious that the long term visoin of these media houses is to promote Ghanaian music to the very ends of the earth.
His origin might be in doubt but his impact on the Ghanaian society cannot be underscored. In fact, the youth of Kasoa launched a campaign to ensure that Nana Appiah Mensah contests for their parliamentary seat – a gesture the benevolent Appiah Mensah graciously declined.
The NAM missions is also another worthwhile initiative of Appiah Mensah where various societal needs are catered for. In the entertainment industry, his quest to take Ghanaian music/entertainment acts worldwide has been impressive. Experts have it that, with time, the Zylofon Cash initiative will reach its peak and will be at the echelon of our entertainment industry.
Then, he did the “unthinkable” by taking Ghanaian music to Nigeria…..despite Ghana’s biggest artistes in Shatta Wale and Stonebwuoy being “DELIBERATELY” snubbed by the Nigerians present at that occasion, the impetus and audacity of attempting to penetrate the hostile Nigerian market with Ghanaian music is in itself, a showcase of the “FEARLESSNESS” of Nana Appiah Mensah.
The recent launching of the Zylofon View, an online cinema which affords producers the opportunity to make optimum profits from their movies go on to prove that, “Nana Appiah Mensah is out to rewrite the Ghanaian History books Of Entertainment”.
So the Nana Appiah Mensah narrative is simple; He is leading a new phase of our entertainment industry which looks to ensure that artistes are duly rewarded for their services.
What can we say? From Menzgold to Zylofon Media to NAM Missions to Zylofon Properties to Zylofon View, Nana Appiah Mensah’s mission of empowering Ghanaians is irresistible and undeniable.
