King of traditional kologo music, King Ayisoba, says Ghana’s rapper, Sarkodie, is no match for him when it comes to live stage performance.

According to him, no hip-life artiste in Ghana can rub shoulders with him with regards to live band performance, adding the rapperholic cannot perform in countries he (Ayisoba) performs. “Sarkodie is not fit for those shows because he (Sarkodie) cannot perform to a live band, the only thing Sarkodie can do is to mime to his songs on CDs,” he told Onua FM.

King Ayisoba argued that in countries that he has performed, the organisers of the shows he performed on, would prefer engaging American rapper, Jay-Z to Sarkodie “The organizers of those shows will prefer Jay Z than bringing Sarkodie because he (Sarkodie) doesn’t have a band.” For him M.anifest and Wanlov Kubolor are the only hip-life artistes who are performing well in the industry among their contemporaries. “M.anifest and Wanlove are the only artistes who are doing well compared to the rest of the hiplife musicians we have here in Ghana.

“The Whiteman I work with always tells me he prefers to invite a highlife artiste from Ghana than inviting a hip-life artiste to the event he organized.”
