Why females (artiste) dey suffer like that?, RuffTown Records signed artiste Wendy Shay quizzed in a facebook live video session with her fans.
The self acclaimed Queen of Ghana music bemoaned how badly female artistes are treated in the industry as compared to the males.
She revealed that unlike the male counterparts, notable men popularly tagged as ‘Big Men’ always want to take advantage of female musicians.
“Sometimes you’ll be there and some big man will call and say I have this business plan so come and let’s talk. I’ll dress and go there in anticipation of listening to business plans that can make me money. And then they’ll be talking about marriage… why? Who said I want to marry” Wendy Shay said
“But this same big man will call male artistes and give them expensive cars and watches without demanding for sex from them” She added
She added that she’s had that experience several times and doesn’t understand why it’s so. She ended by calling on the president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo to come to the aid of females in the industry.
