“Otan”, which translates as “Hate” in the Twi language, is a song by award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, known as Sarkodie. The music video was directed by Gene Adu. The song was produced by M.O.G Beatz.
In the song, Sarkodie opens his lines by rapping about his personal struggles and his journey to success. The lyrics touch upon themes of envy, jealousy, imperfection, gaslighting, pride, and more. The track showcases a seamless blend of contemporary hip-hop and traditional Ghanaian sounds.
