Ghanaian Musician Gyakie, born Jackline Acheampong, couldn’t hide her excitement as she was introduced on stage by legendary musician Angelique Kidjo at the MTV Base, YouTube African Day Concert.
Gyakie was the only Ghanaian act billed for the Concert, in the highly anticipated global event set to put Africa’s next global wave of talent centre stage.
She took to Instagram and posted the video with the caption;
”What a time to be alive! The Queen @AngeliqueKidjo introduced me to the stage at the #AfricaDayConcert by YouTube and MTV Base Africa. Kindly go on YouTube now to watch my performance ????”
The event also saw performances from South Africa’s Elaine, rapper Focalistic, rap duo Blaq Diamond, Nigerian singer Teni, Afrobeat stars Bella Shmurda Omah Lay, Suspect 95 from the Ivory Coast, Kenya’s Bahati and Tanzania’s Zuchu.
The virtual concert was hosted by award-winning actor Idris Elba and was streamed to a global audience on YouTube and broadcast across MTV channels.
