Lonnie Lowry Jr. is the older brother of NBA star Kyle Lowry. He is a former professional basketball player who played in the NBA Development League and overseas. He is also a coach and mentor to his younger brother.
Lonnie was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1979. He is the oldest of four children born to Lonnie Sr. and Marie Lowry. Lonnie then went overseas to play in the French Pro A League. He played for two teams in France before returning to the United States in 2009. He then joined the NBA Development League’s Idaho Stampede, where he played for two seasons.
In 2011, Lonnie retired from professional basketball and returned to Philadelphia. He has since become a mentor and coach to his younger brother, Kyle. He has been a major influence in Kyle’s career, helping him to become an All-Star and one of the best point guards in the NBA.
Lonnie and Kyle have a close relationship, despite the age gap between them. They often talk on the phone and text each other, and Lonnie is always there to offer advice and support.
