Electoral Commission Declares Nana Addo As The Winner Of 2020 Presidential Election

Four More Years for Nana Addo; the Ghanaian Electorate, Who Went to the Polls on 7 December, Rewarded Him with Further Four More Years.

General elections were held in Ghana on 7 December 2020 to elect a President and Members of Parliament.

The presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has retained his seat in closely contested elections against the main opposition leader, John Dramani Mahama.

Akuffo-Addo won 6,730,413 votes with representing 51.295% , whiles John Mahama lost with 6,214,889 votes representing 47.366%.

He defended his record, hingeing his campaign on plans to boost economic growth and continue modest gains in infrastructure development. A change in government, he said, would reverse the progress made over the past four years.

Elections in Ghana have been peaceful since the country moved from military rule to democracy in 1992.
