Students of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka has successfully manufactured the nation’s first electric car.
The car, known as Lion Ozumba 551 is a five seater electric car.
Of course, there is a lot to be happy about from the African perspective as we seek to reduce neocolonialism and imperialism.
According to dailypost.ng, the car was named after the immediate past Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Benjamin Ozumba because of the role he played in laying down the foundation for innovation and technology in the school. 
We can only hope that other inventions will follow.
