It was music, lights, music and more lights at the Junction Mall in Nungua on New Year’s Eve as hundreds of people gathered for a spectacular countdown to 2017!

The evening opened with performances from the Patch Bay band and the excitement heightened when the headlining gospel acts, Cwesi Oteng and Obaapa Christie mounted the stage. They performed a medley of their hit songs but right after Obaapa Christie’s opening song, the lights went off and Starr FM DriveTime host, Caleb Giovanni engaged the crowd, teeming with anticipation, to count down to the New Year.

At the stroke of midnight, the fireworks erupted filling the skylines with colour, lights and the perfect soundtrack to a glorious 2017. It continued for over 20 minutes as Obaapa Christie performed. Tigo promised to light up Accra’s skyline like never before to usher in the New Year, and clearly they delivered.

The Tigo Luminous Festival of Lights and Music: Aseda Edition continued into the early morning with performances from Shatta Wale. Check out all the highlights courtesy Kwabena Awuku Photography.
