The Yaa Asantewa-UNDP awards celebrates filmmakers that go deep and tell stories that resonate to promote global good and to ensure that the sustainable development goals (SDGs) become a reality for all.

This year, The Black Star International film festival introduced 6 awards categories. Each award has a value of 3000$; with the goal of empowering the winning filmmaker to start a new project that promotes the SDGs

Comfort Arthur emerged winner with the Yaa Asantewa- UNDP award, beating International competition to win Best female director .
