NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has alleged that Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, the Member of Parliament of Tema West constituency chewed and swallowed two ballot papers.
General Mosquito as he’s popularly known made this statement today at NDC’s press conference concerning the election of Speaker of the 8th Parliament.
Mr. Ahenkorah has come under fierce criticisms after he was captured on television snatching ballot papers during counting after MPs voted to elect a Speaker for the 8th Parliament.
However, giving an account as to what happened on that day, the General secretary revealed that Carlos Ahenkorah chewed and swallowed two ballot papers.
“Within minutes the ballot thief was caught and the papers were retrieved even though he had managed to chew and swallow two ballot papers” He said
He added that Carlos was directed by Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, MP for Suame Constituency, to go to the table where the ballots were being counted and snatch them.
“After the sorting of ballots, the NPP Member of Parliament Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu was seen directing Hon. Carlos Ahenkorah to the table where the ballots were being counted. In fact Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu was seen shoving another MP off to pave the way for Carlos Ahenkorah. Immediately after, Hon. Carlos Ahenkorah dashed to the table, snatched the heap of ballots being counted for Bagbin and took to his heels in a Usain Bolt style”. He added
