She is the founder, CEO, and CIO of ARK Investment Management, a New York-based investment firm that specializes in disruptive innovation. Wood has been credited with pioneering the use of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to invest in disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and blockchain.
Wood was born in Los Angeles, California in 1961. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1983 and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California in 1985.
