Darcy Kuemper is an American professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for the Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the sixth round, 161st overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Kuemper was born on May 5, 1990, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. He grew up playing hockey in his hometown and was drafted by the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League (WHL) in the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft. He played four seasons with the Blades, appearing in a total of 166 games and posting a record of 81-63-14 with a 2.90 goals-against average (GAA) and a .907 save percentage (SV%).

In 2009, Kuemper was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the sixth round, 161st overall, of the NHL Entry Draft. He then returned to the Blades for one more season before turning pro in 2010. He spent the next three seasons in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Houston Aeros and the Iowa Wild, appearing in a total of 109 games and posting a record of 57-41-7 with a 2.45 GAA and a .914 SV%.

In 2013, Kuemper made his NHL debut with the Wild, appearing in four games and posting a record of 2-1-0 with a 1.88 GAA and a .933 SV%. He then went on to become the Wild’s starting goaltender for the 2013-14 season, appearing in a total of 43 games and posting a record of 19-18-5 with a 2.43 GAA and a .915 SV%.

Kuemper remained with the Wild until the 2018-19 season, when he was traded to the Arizona Coyotes. He has since become the Coyotes’ starting goaltender, appearing in a total of 56 games and posting a record of 28-20-7 with a 2.77 GAA and a .912 SV%.
