The Napoli-Inter Milan game was marred by racist chants from some section of Inter Milan fans towards stalwart Senegalese defender, Kalidou Koulibaly.
The needless, insane and inhumane act of racism from some section of the Inter Milan crowd led to head coach, Carlo Ancelotti’s issuance of a strong warning that the next time a member of his team is subjected to racist chants, they will stop playing.
The chants according to Carlo Ancelotti, “got into Koulibaly’s head” as he was “shaken” by the chants and led to his dismissal in the 80th minute.
In the aftermath of the racist chants, Dries Mertens has expressed his unflinching support for Koulibaly and described such racism chants as “bullshit”.
