GCB Bank has issued a statement to customers who want to request a reversal/refund for a wrongly charged E-levy.
The Electronic Transaction Levy (commonly known as Electronic Levy or E-levy) is a tax applied on transactions made on electronic or digital platforms.
The E-Levy which commenced on the 1st of May 2022, saw a majority of Ghanaians complain about wrongful deductions in their accounts. Most of the complaints had to do with people being charged for transactions below GHC100 even though they were exempted.
However, today GCB has released guidelines to request refunds which includes;
visiting the nearest GCB Bank with a valid Ghana Card, Passport, etc to request a refund.
