Hype Over Talent: 8 Ghanaian Musicians Who Are Over Hyped

" Since the inception of Hip Life, Ghana has seen many great talents and good rappers. \r\nThese great rappers were those you always want to hear what they have to offer next the moment you hear their music for the first time.\r\n\r\nBut we also have those that are over hyped by Ghanaians and not because they are that good. Their music gained popularity through some few fans or on social media probably because they had good sound engineers who are able to give their songs that magic touch.\r\n\r\nAlso it could be their sense of fashion is on point or they are handsome and ladies love them and we all know what happens when women praise you, they raise the bar\u2026(Agogo comes to mind). But a critical look at their style and music and you can clearly see they don\u2019t deserve that kind of popularity because their song don\u2019t really cut though they made hits but we feel they are just over hyped by media, the reason why they are on top.\r\n\r\nSo who exactly are these artists we are talking about? Let\u2019s take a look\u2026\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n 1. Pappy Kojo \r\n \r\n\r\nWell! we know most of you might hate us on this and that clearly explains what we mean by over hyped. We will agree Pappy Kojo got style and a good fashion sense but when it comes to music, he doesn\u2019t really make any sensible song, most of his hits are because he\u2019s over hyped and clearly he\u2019s also a ladies man. He\u2019s a good artist but that doesn\u2019t mean he\u2019s that great compared to the hype he gets.\r\n\r\n[ SOURCE ]\r\n\r\n \r\n 2. Dee Money \r\n \r\n\r\nDude looks more like a Dada Bee who can afford to market his music and pay for studio sections. He\u2019s always throwing songs in our face on social media and really knows how to push a song and because of that, he gets all the hype he needs, but we feel he\u2019s not really talented in that area, he\u2019s just passionate about music and knows how to brand his songs, even with that, we don\u2019t really hear any major hit from him.\r\n\r\n[ SOURCE ]\r\n\r\n \r\n 3. Eazzy \r\n \r\n\r\nEazzy made a hit because Richie is good at marketing his brand, same thing he\u2019s doing with MzVee. We\u2019ve heard Eazzy trying very hard to do some raps here and there but it just doesn\u2019t cut. Now Ghanaians are clearly getting to see that, she\u2019s not that talented and that her initial blossoming was over hyped.\r\n\r\n[ SOURCE ]\r\n\r\n \r\n 4. Sister Deborah \r\n \r\n\r\nWell we didn\u2019t know Deborah Vanessa was a rapper till she announced she was releasing her new single, \u201cUncle Obama\u201d. Well her song hit the streets and boom, Ghanaians were on it praising it here and there but deep down their hearts they knew that wasn\u2019t her field but they urged her on which clearly showed she was over hyped.\r\n\r\n[ SOURCE ]\r\n\r\n \r\n 5. Wisa Greid \r\n \r\n\r\nWisa is a new artist on the block and his hit single, \u201cEkiki Mi\u201d is making waves in the country right now but the song is not as good as Ghanaians are speculating. It is just a case of over hype.\r\n\r\nIf you wish to say a song is really great, compare them to the greatest and ascertain if they still carry that same power you thought it wielded. \u201cEkiki Mi\u201d is just one of those songs that make hits and dies with time and doesn\u2019t stay long. The lyrics do not carry anything special and it\u2019s just full of repetition. We believe the artist is just over hyped, he\u2019s not that good. Listen to the the apology song he did when he pulled out his manhood on stage and tell us if he\u2019s that good an artist.\r\n\r\n[ SOURCE ]\r\n\r\n \r\n 6. Zigi \r\n \r\n\r\nSo where is he now? The last time we checked, he tried to do a song that couldn\u2019t cut. Like we said earlier, Richie is good at branding his products and the moment you back off and takes away his branding\u2026we get to finally see if you\u2019re really talented or just over hyped.\r\n\r\nAsem is a typical example, after parting with Richie, he still managed to stay relevant and clearly showed he was talented and not just a hype. Zigi on the other hand has proven to us he was an over hyped artist.\r\n\r\n[ SOURCE ]\r\n\r\n \r\n 7. Wanluv Kubolor \r\n \r\n\r\nWanluv is not really any great artist but probably because his connections are tight, he clearly knows how to move his songs around. His first song, Konkonsa was nothing special but he still managed to push it through and since then he\u2019s been giving us a lot unnecessary songs. His colleague, Mensah is really talented though.\r\n\r\nWe not saying Kubolor is not a good rapper, he is, but sometimes we feel his songs are over hyped because you can tell this is not a song that should cut it but still manages to sail through.\r\n\r\n[ SOURCE ]\r\n\r\n \r\n 8. D-Black \r\n \r\n\r\nD\u2019Black has made many hits in the country but listen to most of his songs and you can clearly tell he\u2019s just a good marketer who knows how to push his songs because clearly we can tell his songs are over hyped.\r\n\r\nHe\u2019s not such a great rapper but knows how to \u201ccollabo\u201d to get his music across but frankly speaking, he\u2019s just over hyped.\r\n\r\n[ SOURCE ]"
