Ghanaian High Life legend KK Fosu has reacted to speculations that suggests that he has intended to ride on the success of fellow singer Bisa Kdei.
KK Fosu who was earlier in the news for claiming that he was willing to throw a party for Bisa Kdei if he should win artiste of the year at the 2016 edition of VGMAs has revealed his actual intentions towards the latter.
Speaking on Kasapa FM 102.3, KK explained that he only felt it was right to encourage Bisa Kdei because he is doing great in the Ghanaian music industry with his High Life music.
He said:
“I don’t even think Bisa Kdei can boldly claim that he really knows me because we have met once or twice. I think he has done great over the years supporting Ghana music with his High Life music. I feel the High Life genre has been silent for a while — Hiplife, Dancehall has always dominated the VGMA aards with most wins including artist of the year. Lumba is the only notable winner of the artist of the year award with High Life music. So I felt it was wise to boost him with a party to encourage him to do more. We have to congratulate ourselves and that’s what I intend doing.”
Bisa Kdei has been nominated for this year’s artist of the year award alongside Stonebwoy, Sarkodie and more.
