The porcupine warriors’ rejuvenated side sold out a delightful performance in the Ghalca G6 tournament which they eventually came out as the ultimate champions. Eric Donkor, Amos Frimpong and Dauda Mohammed’s goals secured the first three points for Kotoko in a much anticipated match against their boogie side Brekum Chelsea which was followed by a one goal apiece against Ashanti Gold Sc in the group stage. This means an automatic qualification to the grand finale against Brong Ahafo based Aduana Stars who have also qualified at the expense of Accra Hearts of oak and Tom Strands Medeama Sc.
Coach David Duncan had to divide his squad into two to make an invitational tournament in Libya happen. Kotoko’s first team travelled to Libya which apparently makes them the underdogs of the cup final against Aduana stars.
After the last sound of the whistle of Ghana beach soccer referee Issaka Afful, Kotoko’s depleted side came out as the champions after a well-taken penalty by the Burkinabe, Halipha Sedego. Both teams depicted really a good performance by creating numerous chances especially in the early embers of the game. Referee Issaka awarded a penalty to Aduana in the early stages of the game but was awfully taken by the skipper of the side Godfred Saka.
Another penalty was awarded, this time to Kumasi Asanti Kotoko after Yakubu Mohammed brought down Bernette Ofori in the second half which proved to be the decider of the encounter.
Both sides scooped all the available individual of awards the tournament

Goal King: Kwame Boateng (kotoko)
Best Goalie: Eric Ofori Antwi (Kotoko)

After such a glittering performance, it is very acceptable if anyone prognosticate the outcome of the 2016 premier league in favour of Asante Kotoko.
