Liverpool romped to an emphatic 3-1 victory over Arsenal at Anfield. Mohammed Salah scored a second half brace after Joel Matip gave Liverpool the lead on the stroke of halftime.Alex Torreira scored Arsenal’s consolation goal.

Prior to the game, Liverpool’s stalwart defender, Virgil Van Dijk was holding onto a surreal record of never being dribbled past since Mikel Merino went past him in March 2018.

However, Arsenal’s Ivorian acquisition, Nicolas Pepe had other ideas. Pepe became the first player to successfully dribble past the impressive Van Dijk in the Dutch defender’s last 50 appearances in the Premier League.
