The opening ceremony of the BlackStar International Film Festival was climaxed in awe yesterday. In attendance was Her Excellency, the second lady of Ghana, Mrs. Samira Bawumia.
The event which became the talk on social media caught the attention of the president of the Republic of Ghana, H. E Nana-Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo to show more interest and support to the private sector, especially the BlackStar International Film Festival (#Bsiff).
As a non-profit organization promoting the cultural heritage of Africa, Bsiff stands the chance to be a beacon to the film industry across the world, through the presidents’ private sector developmental support, an initiative in partnership with the ministry of tourism, arts and culture. Gradually, we are bridging the gap in the film industry with all the expertise and audience out there. It’s getting more exciting each day.
The Black Star International Film Festival continues over the weekend with screenings from over 45 countries at the Silverbird Cinema, Accra Mall, African Regent Hotel, Achimota Mall and James Town, Mantse Agbona. Do well to get a day’s pass HERE to enjoy all the subsequent screenings.
