PHOTOS: Rapper EL Makes History With BAR 3 Concert

A prized line-up of hiphop acts from Ghana and Nigeria complimented BBNZ’s E.L as he staged a historic BAR 3 concert at the Accra Polo Grounds on Friday December 23.

The concert, an annual event in honour of his B.A.R mixtape/album projects, saw decent attendance, and was graced by several emerging and established acts including Koo Ntakra, Worlasi, Recognise Ali, Ko-jo Cue, Jayso, Ball J, Tee Phlow, M3dal,, Medikal, A.I, Trigmatic, Cabum, Joey B, Pappy Kojo, Adomaa, and veteran Nigerian rapper and CEO of Chocolate City Music Jude “M.I” Abaga.

Also in attendance were several popular faces in the Ghanaian entertainment and media space, including humour merchant DKB, and Citi FM’s Nathan Quao.

Though it saw a significantly late start, the show (which closed around 3 am on Saturday), was highly successful as patrons were kept on their feet with E.L’s thrilling performance of songs off BAR 3 (which was launched back in September at the Kristals Night Club, Osu to wide praise). He brought out several acts who featured on the album , most of whom have been listed above.

Usually a mixtape, the BAR project takes a different turn this year. BAR III, he announced, is a full-fledged album.

The album, entirely hip-hop, was preceded by masterful singles as Body Bags, Love God, Portey Dey Be, and Lalafama. It brings together an international array of A-list acts including MI, Khuli Chana, Adoma, Stargo, Teephlow, Gemini, Joey B, Medikal, Ayat and Worlasi.

Born Elorm Adabla, EL is president of BBnZ Live, the record label on which he is signed. The label is also home to other music forces as Kojo-Cue, and Shaker. He has two studio albums and five mixtapes to his credit.
