Celebrities in Ghana have a tough time managing their own official websites. For most of them, it’s either the website stays dormant for years without updates after its launch or they simply forget to renew their domain and hosting plans when they expire.
In 2015, the most decorated rapper in Ghana, Sarkodie launched his own official website.
The website which run WWW.THISISSARKODIE.COM featured works of the artiste including his released albums, videos and songs.
However, the website in 2018 seems to have found a new owner and he’s not a Ghanaian too.
EonlineGH.Com took a look at the rapper’s website and it seems it’s been handed over to a Japanese blogger.
Our research showed that management of the artiste either forgot or decided not to operate the domain anymore thereby losing it to this new owner.
We also noticed that the rapper seems to have moved onto a new domain — sarkcessmusic.com, which showcases projects and videos from the label and its signees.
What’s interesting to us is that, the rapper still boldly lists www.thisissarkodie.com as his official website on facebook. The contact number stated on his page doesn’t work either.
If the website is no longer active, then why keep it on your public profile? Isn’t a change of address necessary since this is boldly visible to anyone including the thousands of foreigners who visit his page everyday to keep up with his works?
Is a simple change of address too much work for his team?
