Nominees are currently being announced for this year’s edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards which comes off April 8th at the Accra International Conference centre. Contestants will face off in various categories including the coveted Artist of the Year Award. Rapper EL ( born Elom Adabla) is current holder of that laurel.

Mansa hitmaker Bisa KDei, Becca, Kofi Kinaata, and Becca have all gained nominations for VGMA Highlife Song of the Year 2017. Others include Ga singer Wisa Greid for his song Mintse Bo, Dobble for Christie, and Tema-based producer Killbeatz for his inspirational Bokor Bokor (ft. Fuse ODG and Mugeez).

Categories for Political Song of the Year, Mixtape of the Year, and DJ of the Year have all been added this year, and as is characteristic of recent years, some categories have either been added, renamed, or rested.
