Yaya Toure Red Carded After Just 10 Seconds In Potentially His Last Football Match

Yaya Toure was hoping to win the Chinese League One title with his side Qingdao Huanghai on Sunday.

“Promotion!!! Next season Qingdao Huanghai FC will be where they should be… the Chinese Super League!!!

“I’m proud to help make this happen but I want the title….!!!! One more game to go”, he tweeted.

And they managed to win it all on Sunday, but not in the manner that Toure would have hoped.

Today’s game between Qingdao Huanghai and Nantong Zhiyen was most likely Toure’s last game in China and potentially the last of his professional career.

But Toure was sent off after just 10 SECONDS. That’s right. 10 seconds.

Qingdao Huanghai mounted an early attack and had a shot on goal. However, Toure was involved in a tussle with an opposition player and kicked out at him.

After consultation with VAR, Toure was given his marching orders by the referee.

What was Toure thinking? That’s got to be one of the fastest red cards in football history.

If that is Toure’s last game as a professional, that brings back shades of Zinedine Zidane, who was shown a red card during his final match.

Qingdao Huanghai actually went on to take the lead when Gao Xiang netted just before the hour-mark.

But a brace from Mladen Kovacevic condemned Toure’s side to a last day defeat.
