Last gasp winners are always one of a kind…….It spurs differing emotions simultaneously. For the winning team, the sound of victory is sweet and exciting but for the losing team, the anguish and despair is sickening.
Riyad Mahrez’s brilliantly struck last gasp free kick is ensured that Algeria emerged 2-1 victors over Nigeria. And really, it was a well deserved victory for the Algerians, the better side.
It is first time since their conquest in 1990 that Algeria has booked a place in the AFCON final.
