As a blogger and an Economics student — I’m always searching for the network with the most affordable data bundle offer to work with. I need it to be reliable at the lowest cost possible so honestly I’m not a dedicated subscriber on any Ghanaian network. I’ve tried all the Telecos and I keep switching them so long as I can afford to do so.
Over the years I’ve tried Airtel’s 2x bonus on top ups and data bundles but the network became so slow that it became too annoying to use.
Today I’m on Tigo and until another network comes with a better offer, I’ll be stuck with them for a while.
So let’s get to how you can enjoy their 3.6 gigabyte data bundle for as low as GHc15. Follow these simple steps.
First of all you need to get a new Tigo SIM card because this tutorial will not work on an old SIM card. You can get an already registered SIM card from any vendor for GHc2 or worse GHc3 and honestly this is a small price to pay to enjoy this service. The reason why we’re using a new SIM card instead of an old one is because Tigo gives you 300% bonus on a weekly and monthly packages on all new SIM cards. Unused internet volumes are rolled over upon renewal or purchase of new package before expiry and it’s valid as per the validity of the newly purchased package — and this offer lasts for 3 months.
Which means if you recharge with a GHc15 card, you get GHc45 as bonus which can be used to make calls and send SMS to all networks and selected International countries like China, USA, Canada and UK fixed. Bonus cannot be used to buy new Packages and Bundles. Finally, Bonus is valid for 7days, however, is rolled-over (added to the new bonus) upon recharging before expiry and is valid for another 7 days and you also get 3x any weekly and monthly data bundle you activate. You can always roll over the data bundle when they are about to expire.
Once you have the new SIM card in your phone you need to top up. For this tutorial we are going to use their GHc15 package so buy that amount.
Dial *500#, choose option 2 (one time packages), select option 2 (weekly offers) at the next stage. Choose option 0 for more and activate the 5th option which gives you 1.2 Gigabyte data for 15 days.
You’ll get 3x of the 1.2 gig which gives you 3.6 gig in all. You can as well check out the other packages and choose the best offer which suits your needs. In addition, new Customer gets free Tigo to Tigo calls to one number of choice (Favorite Number) for 30 days from the date of activation. All you need is to add a number of choice and start enjoying free calls to that favorite number. Customers can only enjoy Free 60 minutes to the favorite in a day for 30days from the date of activation. Also one cannot change his/her favorite number within the 30 days promo.
