Abraham Attah To Be Made Tourism Ambassador For Ghana

The minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Hon. (Mrs) Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare addressing a media launch of the 11th Okwahu Paragliding festival 2016 has stated that, Abraham Attah will be made Tourism Ambassador for Ghana.

The Minister will also host Master Abraham Attah and some of his friends and family at the festival where she will hold discussions with him on a package that will see him become Ghana’s Tourism Ambassador.

“We are proud of Abraham Attah at Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and we think that all of us should pamper him and do our best to make sure all he has achieved takes him far,” she said.

Addressing the media in Accra, Mrs Ofosu Agyare said the young man had made Ghana proud and deserved to be celebrated. (Mrs) Ofosu Agyare stated that, she will be hosting Abraham Attah with six(6) of his friends and family at the festival where she will hold discussions with him on a package that will see him become Ghana’s Tourism Ambassador.

The minister promised to pay for two of the six people to have a feel of this years paragliding festival in Kwahu.

“We are proud of Abraham Attah at Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and we think that all of us should pamper him and do our best to make sure all he has achieved takes him far,” she said.

The paragliding festival which is one of the flagship events on the tourism calendar is held every year by the Ghana tourism Authority and under the auspices of the ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts to coincide with the Easter holidays.

Hon. (Mrs) Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare addressing the media on this year Kwahu Easter said, This year’s festival, which is the 11th in the series, will be held from Friday, 25th to Sunday, 27th March, 2016.

Ten seasoned international paragliding tandem pilots from the United States of America, Peru, Japan, France and Belgium are expected in the country to fly passengers during the festival.

To add to the excitement, there will be activities such as tug-of-war and indoor games such as ludo, draught, oware, playing cards and scrabble competitions. There will also be a food bazaar. The Kwahu tourism Initiative will also organize tours to the Breast Mountains, Buokuro and Stone City.

Adequate security arrangements have also been made with the Ghana police Service to ensure the safety and security of all.

Other major stakeholders like the Ghana tourist Development Company limited, the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, the Ghana Immigration Service, the Meteorological Services department, the National Security Secretariat, the Ghana revenue Authority, are each playing specific roles to ensure a successful festival.

The 2015 event reecorded a total of 212 flights, Out of these 40 passengers were Ghanaians, 55 Germans, 36 Amaricans and 12 were Japanese

Finally Hon. (Mrs) Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare every year a theme song is chosen for the festival and this year the organizers have chosen Bisa K Dei’s “MANSA” as the theme song for the 2016 Okwahu Paragliding Festival to whip up enthusiasm.
