Afrobeat artist Feli Nuna has taken a subtle swipe at fellow musician and “number 9” family member Mzvee.
The fast rising singer who has branded herself online as “Daavi Diva” revealed that she was the inspiration behind the Lynx entertainment artist popular song of the same name.
Speaking on Entamoty Live on Class 91.3 FM with host Barimah Amoaning, the “lose control” singer said
she felt honored and privileged when Mzvee came out with her “Daavi” song.
“I think it’s an honor and a privilege and it is a form of flattery….it’s good to know that I inspire other artists to reach higher heights. If she wants to be like the Daavi Diva…it’s a good thing, I love that and she should keep reaching higher, keep being who she is…I love her music but there’s still one original Daavi” she said.
However, MzVee in an interview with Amanda Jissih during the TV premier of the video that “Daavi” revealed that the song is to celebrate who she is as an Ewe girl who has come this far.
Feli Nuna represented Ghana at 2016’s Coke Studio Africa whilst MzVee was at the 2016 BETs as a nominee for the African Act category.
So we ask, what is the meaning of “Daavi” that only Feli Nuna wants to be recognized as such
OR is MzVee actually attempting to steal Feli Nuna’s “Daavi” shine?
