There are some people who neglect their parents as soon as their parents become old. And if they are visited by some unfortunate incidents, these people tend to point accusatory fingers at their parents.

Though the idea of catering for one’s parent is a practice which is embedded in our African culture, there are some people who are drifting away from it and feel that it is not their duty to take care of their parents.

Bishop David Oyedepo has addressed the issue of taking care of one’s parents by insisting that it is ones job to take care of his or her parents.

According to the globally acclaimed Bishop, we will lose God’s honor if we fail to honor our parents. He stressed that we cannot be eating all kinds of delicious meals whiles our parents are out there starving.

It is your job to honour your parents. You can’t change them; it is too late! When you stop honouring them, God says, “I will dishonour you.” You cannot be eating turkey, beef, chicken, fish and all kinds of delicious meals, while your parents are out there virtually starving! pic.twitter.com/xVLy5WCzzG
