Actor, philanthropist, entrepreneur and politician, John Dumelo’s decision to contest for the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary seat didn’t really come as a surprise considering how active he has been in the affairs of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

However, most Ghanaians have been bothered about the intention behind his decision of wanting to be an MP – considering the V8 saga that rocked the country some years back, such worries aren’t a far cry.

To that effect, John Dumelo has revealed his intention for wanting to be an MP.

“My motivation to get to parliament is to serve the people and positively affect the lives of Ghanaians through the decision making process after being in the movie industry”, Dumelo said on 3FM.

When asked about his chances of victory, he said, “the good thing is that I’ve associated myself with the constituents of Ayawaso West Wuogon and I feel I have about 80% of their votes”.
