MTN Presents: Mtn Shortz, The Perfect Platform To Monetize Your Ingenuity

I am sure most of you have come across The Adventures Of Zaaki [a comic animation] wherein you laughed your hearts out……amongst a host of other creative stuff circulating on various social media platforms. I am also sure that a lot of you have untapped talents in terms of creating video contents but are unable / unwilling to pursue that field of endeavor because you realized that doing such a thing in Ghana is highly unprofitable. It is more like a pro bono stuff…..you make people laugh, take away their burdens yet receive next to little or even nothing for your creativity. Naa Ashorkor couldn’t have put it any better when during the launching of MTN Shortz, she said “We become popular but keep on being broke”.

Guess what? Your moments of miseries are over. Leading telecommunications company MTN, has come up with a wonderful platform to ensure that your creativity rakes in some good cash for you.

The answer? MTN Shortz. The launch took place on the 8th of August, 2018 at the MTN Media Centre. Media icon Naa Ashorkor hosted the launch, media tycoons such as Movie Producer and Actress Kafui Danku, Kofi Asamoah [KOFAS Media], amongst a host of other media personalities were in attendance.

What is MTN Shortz?
MTN Shortz is a platform that enables content creators to create short videos and earn from their creations. The video should be within a duration of 5-10 minutes or less. The video contents should include; comedy, animations, podcast, games, films as well as other educative materials.

During the launch, Acting Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Noel Kojo-Ganson said “MTN Shortz is a platform that would empower our customers digitally and serve as a reference point for them to access short video contents like comedy, animation, podcast, games and films. This platform is also expected to be a revenue generating source for content developers”.

Mr. Noel further emphasized that the content should be locally generated, a move that will ensure that the rich Ghanaian culture is marketed worldwide. The generated content could be on health, education and any other issue of social importance. He stressed that contents submitted ought to be thought provoking and exciting.

The first phase on the MTN Shortz, the MTN Shortz challenge will see an amount of 50, 000 cedis being shared amongst winners of the various categories.

Content creators who get their content uploaded on the MTN Shortz platform will basically earn money from the number of people who subscribe to watch their videos as well as other awards scheme to be instituted as the initiative keeps on growing in leaps and bounds.

Anyone interested in the MTN Shortz Challenge should log onto mtn.com.gh/shortz and provide the necessary details for registration which started on August 8, 2018 and ends on August 27, 2018.
