Sensational singer Efya has reacted to public perception about her being a well-known chain smoker.
It’s a well known rumor that the singer, real name Jane Awindor, is a drug addict and even though she has been reluctant in denying the notion — she blames it on the affiliation she has with people who smoke.
The singer in an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso on the Delay Show explained that people think she smoke just because she hangs out with R2bees who are comfortable in publicly flaunting their “joints”.
“I think it is the boys — Paedae, R2bees — they put it out there when they’re smoking and because of my affiliation with them and everything. But I don’t think that should be a point.
I don’t think just because I hang around with people that smoke you should think that I smoke too”
she said
The music career of Efya has been rocked with series of controversies and allegations since hitting the limelight after emerging third in the maiden edition of the Stars of the Future music reality show in 2006.
Major among the controversies are allegations that she smokes and she is also into hard drugs.
