With the group stage of the AFCON successfully coming to a close yesterday, there were a lot of opinions on who needed to make the Team Of The Group Stage.
The Confederation Of African Football (CAF) has made it’s selection and unsurprisingly, Ghana’s Jordan Ayew made it into the team whiles Mubarak Wakaso was deemed good enough for a place on the bench.
Egypt’s El Shennawy was chosen as the goalkeeper, Morocco’s Ashraf Hakimi was adjuged the best left back, Egypt’s Hegazi and Cameroon’s Yaya Banana were the chosen pair for central defense, Egypt’s El Mohammady was the choice for right back, Madagascar’s Andrianantenaina together with Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez and Ismail Bennacer were chosen in a midfield three whiles Senegal’s Sadio Mane, Ghana’s Jordan Ayew and Egypt’s Mohammed Salah completed the attacking trio.
On the bench were Andre Onana of Cameroon, Youcef Atal and Youcef Belaili of Algeria, Mehdi Benatia of Morocco, Carolus Andrea of Madagascar, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa of Cameroon, Cedric Bakambu of DR. Congo and Ghana’s Wakaso Mubarak.
