#2 – Lionel Messi ($64.7 Million)
At first glance Lionel Messi really doesn’t look like a professional athlete. He’s only 5’6″ and generally looks like your common guy.
However, not only is he one of the richest athletes in the world, he’s one of the most prolific goal scorers in soccer history. I guess you won’t be laughing at his short stature for very long! In his entire career with Barcelona he has scored more than 250 goals. Undoubtedly his biggest score, however, was dating supermodel Luciana Salazar. Could a normal 5’6″ guy land an Argentinian super model without being filthy rich? Probably not, but I doubt Messi cares about that.
