Nominees are currently being announced for this year’s edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards which comes off April 8th at the Accra International Conference centre. Contestants will face off in various categories including the coveted Artist of the Year Award. Rapper EL ( born Elom Adabla) is current holder of that laurel.

For the category of Hiplife Song of the Year, SarkCess Music boss Sarkodie (for his effort on the massive RNS) earns a deserving nomination, and goes up against colleagues Guru, Kofi Kinaata, Criss Waddle, FlowKing Stone, Veteran hiplife group VVIP for “Alhaji”, as well as the fast rising Donzy for his party anthem Club (ft. Piesie).

New categories as Political Song of the Year, Mixtape of the Year, and DJ of the Year have all been added this year, and as is characteristic of recent years, some categories have either been added, renamed, or rested.
